Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 August 2026

This policy explains what information Synth collects when you visit project-synth.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Synth is a venture portfolio company, and this website is a public manifesto. It has no sign-up, no accounts, and no forms, so we collect very little.

Who we are

"Synth" (also referred to as "we", "us" or "our") operates the website at project-synth.com. We are the data controller for the limited information described in this policy.

Information we collect

Because this site is an informational manifesto, we do not ask you to create an account, submit a form, or share personal details. The information we may process is limited to the following.

  • Usage and analytics data. If analytics are enabled, we collect aggregated, non-identifying information about how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type, and referring links. This helps us understand which parts of the manifesto people read.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard request information such as IP address, timestamp and user-agent for security and reliability. This is not used to identify you.
  • Feedback you choose to send. If a feedback option is available and you use it, we receive the content you submit so we can improve the site.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and we do not sell or rent any information about you.

How we use information

  • To operate, secure and maintain the website.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the manifesto is read so we can improve it.
  • To respond to feedback you actively choose to send us.
  • To comply with legal obligations that apply to us.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses only the cookies or local storage needed for it to function and, where enabled, for privacy-respecting analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you from reading the manifesto.

Google user data and the Synth workspace

Separately from this public website, our team operates an internal platform, the Synth workspace, which we use to run the ventures we own. That workspace connects to Google on our behalf so we can create and manage Google Ads campaigns and perform keyword research for our own venture accounts. This section explains how it handles Google data, because it is the application that requests access to Google services.

  • What we access. With authorisation, the workspace accesses the Google Ads account data needed to manage advertising, such as campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and the associated performance and reporting figures.
  • How we use it. We use that access only to create, review and manage Google Ads campaigns and to run keyword research for the ventures we operate. We do not use Google user data for advertising to you, for building profiles, or for any purpose unrelated to running those campaigns.
  • Sharing. We do not sell Google user data, and we do not share it with third parties except the limited service providers that help us operate the workspace, or where the law requires it.
  • Retention. We keep Google data only for as long as it is needed to operate the campaigns and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the site, such as our hosting platform and, where enabled, an analytics service. These providers process data only to deliver their service to us and under their own privacy commitments. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep information

We keep aggregated analytics only for as long as it is useful for understanding how the site is used, and technical logs only for as long as needed for security and reliability. We do not build individual profiles of visitors.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data we hold, including the right to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. Because this site does not require accounts and collects only limited, largely non-identifying data, we may have little or no information tied to you as an individual.

Children

This website is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International visitors

The site may be accessed from around the world, and the infrastructure that serves it may process data in other countries. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protections are in place.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site or applicable law changes. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page.

Contacting us

If you have a question about this policy or how your information is handled, you can reach us through the contact options provided on project-synth.com. Requests relating to your data are handled through those same channels.
